For the second week in a row, Clemson is in the top 4 of the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Tigers made their debut at No. 4 last week. A lot rode on their game against now-No. 23 NC State on Saturday, and a win solidified their position inside the top 4.
Helping matters was a loss by one of the teams that were hot on Clemson’s heels. Ohio State was bludgeoned by Iowa, 55-17, which dropped the Buckeyes from No. 6 to No. 13.
Clemson has beaten a handful of teams ranked in this week’s top 25, with wins over No. 10 Auburn, No. 17 Virginia Tech and No. 23 NC State. A win over unranked Florida State this weekend would clinch the ACC Atlantic for the Tigers and propel them into the ACC Championship, likely against No. 7 Miami.
