Clemson corner back Ryan Carter is having a great season. But his best game of the year came against N.C. State.
Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley had a good day, throwing for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns. But when he targeted Carter, he was essentially throwing into a black hole. Finley targeted Carter’s man 9 times on Saturday, completing just 2 passes for 15 yards. Carter also notched an interception. All of that registered 0.0 passer rating while targeted:

“He did a nice job. We rolled the coverage to him and gave him a little help so he could be aggressive,” defensive coordinator Brent Venables said of Carter’s interception. “It’s a huge play of the game, he played his butt off. He really played well tonight … he was a huge part of that win and giving the offense a short field.”
The redshirt senior has given the Clemson defense a lift. The Tigers will face Florida State on Saturday.
