Urban Meyer is no longer the third-highest paid coach in college football.
The Buckeyes head coach — who makes $6,094,800 per year, according to the USA Today coaches salary database — was surpassed by Clemson’s Dabo Swinney. Swinney signed a new contract Friday and will start making $6,750,000 per year.

The only two coaches who make more than Swinney are Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh ($9,004,000) and Alabama’s Nick Saban ($6,939,395).
Swinney, of course, led Clemson to a national title last season, beating Ohio State, 31-0, in the process (which he said he knew would happen). Swinney’s was the country’s 12th-best paid coach when he won the title.
