CBS Sports gives Miami a 41.2 percent chance of beating Notre Dame, whopping 87 percent odds to defeat Virginia and a 67.8 percent probability at Pitt.
Of the five undefeated teams (Alabama 68.7 percent, Georgia 32.8 percent, Wisconsin 17.2 percent, UCF 46.2 percent), the Hurricanes have the second-lowest projection.
The biggest challenge for Miami’s undefeated bid will come this Saturday in primetime against their long-time rivals.
Miami (8-0, 6-0) is now No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings while Notre Dame (8-1) checks in at No. 3 leading into the showdown at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami will be seeking their first win vs. Notre Dame since a 27-10 victory in 1989. Miami lost at Notre Dame 30-27 last season.
Notre Dame leads the all-time series 18-7-1, with the games in Miami tied at 6-6-1.
Notre Dame-Miami is slated for an 8 p.m. (EST) kickoff and will be televised on ABC.
