CBS Sports projects Miami Hurricanes’ chances of undefeated regular season

Eight down, three to go in the regular season.

The Miami Hurricanes (8-0, 6-0) are the lone undefeated team standing in the ACC.

CBS Sports analyst Stephen Oh projected the  win-out percentage for all top 15 teams in addition to the top two ranked Group of Five teams.

The Hurricanes are listed as having a 24.3 percent chance to end the regular season undefeated. Miami closes with games vs. Notre Dame, Virginia and at Pitt.

CBS Sports gives Miami a 41.2 percent chance of beating Notre Dame, whopping 87 percent odds to defeat Virginia and a 67.8 percent probability at Pitt.

Of the five undefeated teams (Alabama 68.7 percent, Georgia 32.8 percent, Wisconsin 17.2 percent, UCF 46.2 percent), the Hurricanes have the second-lowest projection.

The biggest challenge for Miami’s undefeated bid will come this Saturday in primetime against their long-time rivals.

Miami (8-0, 6-0) is now No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings while Notre Dame (8-1) checks in at No. 3 leading into the showdown at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami will be seeking their first win vs. Notre Dame since a 27-10 victory in 1989. Miami lost at Notre Dame 30-27 last season.

Notre Dame leads the all-time series 18-7-1, with the games in Miami tied at 6-6-1.

Notre Dame-Miami is slated for an 8 p.m. (EST) kickoff and will be televised on ABC.
