Georgia and Alabama are ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, which were released on Tuesday night. However, not all of the talk surrounding the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs is positive.
Some people believe that Georgia and Alabama haven’t had the most difficult schedules to this point in the season. And that includes CBS college football analyst Gary Danielson.
“The only question I have about both teams is their schedule,” Danielson said on WNSP 105.5 on Wednesday, per AL.com. “The SEC East is just a hot mess. If you look at Georgia’s schedule closely, you got Notre Dame and who else? The same for Alabama.”
The Bulldogs beat Notre Dame, 20-19, in their first game of the season. The only other ranked team they’ve beat during their 8-0 start is Mississippi State. However, their schedule gets tougher this week with a road matchup at Auburn, and later, perhaps a meeting with Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
The Crimson Tide is coming off a win over LSU, and their schedule is about to get tougher. They play Mississippi State this Saturday and Auburn on Nov. 25.
According to Danielson, he believes Alabama, Georgia and Auburn — which is No. 10 in the CFP rankings — are the SEC teams that control their own destiny
