Bret Bielema reveals Arkansas WR Koilan Jackson suffers season-ending ACL injury

Arkansas’ receiving corps lost a promising true freshman for the remainder of the season.

During Wednesday’s SEC teleconference, coach Bret Bielema revealed that Koilan Jackson went down with an ACL injury during practice on Tuesday.

“Kolian had been doing really well. This is his first year playing wide receiver exclusively. He got to play quarterback, he played a little wideout, a little bit of everything and a guy that’s obviously very well-versed in football with the success of his family.

“Unfortunately yesterday in one-on-one drills, tweaked his knee, actually got an ACL repair job, and now he’s going to have to go through … I don’t know if it’s going to be this week or next to get the swelling down.”

Bielema also confirmed that the 6-foot-2, 214-pound Jackson, a 3-star prospect from Little Rock, Ark. and the third-ranked recruit in the state, will redshirt this season.
