Ole Miss announced Friday morning it will appeal a 2018 bowl ban that was handed down by the NCAA amid a long list of sanctions for recruiting violations.
The bowl ban for 2018 is in addition to a self-imposed postseason ban for 2017.
“While we continue to review the full report, we will vigorously appeal the 2018 postseason ban,” Ole Miss said in a response to the NCAA’s report. “The additional postseason ban is excessive and does not take into account the corrective actions that we have made in personnel, structure, policies and processes to address the issues.”
If Ole Miss does not win the appeal, rising seniors on the Rebels’ roster will be able to transfer anywhere without sitting out a year.
