BREAKING: Alabama has lost a commitment from OL Jarrett Bell

Alabama is down to 11 commitments in the Class of 2018 as 3-star offensive lineman Jarrett Bell has decided to reopen his recruitment, SEC Country can confirm 247Sports’ Greg Biggins’ report.

Bell, who was a camp standout over the summer, committed to Alabama in August shortly after earning an offer from the Tide in July. But, since then, Alabama has gotten a commitment from 4-star center Emil Ekiyor and the team continues to feel good about major targets Penei Sewell and Nicholas Petit-Frere.

Bell de-committing from Alabama was going to happen regardless of if it was his decision or if it was on the team to back off from him eventually. One source close to the program told SEC Country two weeks ago that Bell was not going to sign with Alabama because the numbers in the 2018 class are too tight and the team just has more important targets than him.

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 22 offensive guard in the country.
