Iowa State hasn’t gone to a bowl game since 2012. The Cyclones could now be going up against the most storied program in college football this December after a 7-5 turnaround year.
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura had Iowa State facing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Camping World Bowl on Dec. 28. The bowl will be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.
The Cyclones have never faced the Fighting Irish on the gridiron. That could all change soon, however, with the latest projection.
Iowa State will learn its bowl destination and opponent on Dec. 3 several hours after the College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six pairings are announced. For now, it’s a waiting game to see if the Cyclones will get a coveted matchup with the gold domes this winter.
