Baylor’s first win of the season against Kansas on Saturday did more than restore a little bit of faith in the Bears football program.
Coach Matt Rhule’s group were tabbed the No. 4 team (i.e. the fourth-worst team in the country) in CBS Sports’ Bottom 25 college football rankings last week. They are officially out of the ‘Bottom 10,’ checking in at No. 14 in this week’s rankings.
“I believe the fact Baylor crushed Kansas only proved my point that this team wasn’t nearly as bad as its record suggested,” CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli wrote.
Kansas is now officially the worst Power 5 team, according to Fornelli. The Jayhawks moved up to No. 4 just behind San Jose State, Georgia Southern and the No. 1-ranked UTEP Miners.
Baylor will go for win No. 2 this season at 12 p.m. ET, Saturday, against Texas Tech. The game will be carried on Fox Sports Network.
