The Baylor Bears have struggled this season, but a big landmark could be right in front of them.
If Baylor beats Texas Tech on Saturday, they’ll break the current 37-37-1 gridlock the all-time series between the two schools currently rests at.
In 2011, Baylor broke a 15-game Red Raider win streak in a 66-42 shootout. In 2016, Texas Tech fired back, and broke the five game Baylor streak with a 54-35 win over the Bears.
Texas Tech got off to a strong 3-0 start, but since then the Red Raiders have faltered and slid to a 4-5 mark.
Baylor got its first win last Saturday, and this weekend’s game against Texas Tech could be an opportunity for the Bears to snag another. The typically strong Texas Tech offense hasn’t been as explosive as it normally has been, and their defense, while vastly improved, is far from excellent.
Baylor has a very real chance to beat Texas Tech this Saturday. If they can hold off the typical fast start from the Red Raiders, the Bears will have a real chance to win this in the fourth quarter.
