Baylor power forward Terry Maston will be out until at least January with a broken right hand, the school announced on Wednesday.
Maston suffered the injury during Baylor’s 76-63 loss to No. 21 Xavier on Tuesday. Maston went out after 22 minutes after scoring 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting.
The senior was averaging 11.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game on 63.3 percent from the field in a breakout season. Both marks are career highs by a significant margin.
Dr. Scott Hecox of Southwest Sports Medicine in Waco will perform the surgery on Maston’s hand, according to a release.
