Ohio State football announced its 2017 team captains Monday, naming QB J.T. Barrett the program’s first-ever three-time captain. The Buckeyes have had nine two-time captains, including Archie Griffin, Glenn Cobb, James Laurinaitis and Braxton Miller, but had never before had a player serve three seasons as a captain.

Here’s each Ohio State football captain for 2017:

  • Graduate QB J.T. Barrett;
  • Junior H-back Parris Campbell;
  • Senior DE Jalyn Holmes
  • Junior DE Sam Hubbard;
  • Graduate DE Tyquan Lewis
  • Junior receiver Terry McLaurin;
  • Graduate C Billy Price;
  • Graduate DE Tracy Sprinkle
  • Senior LB Chris Worley.

The nine captains is the most in program history, according to a school spokesman. Ohio State is ranked No. 2 in the preseason AP Top 25, released on Monday.
