LSU GM Austin Thomas was back home in Tennessee to do some recruiting to start the week. He will return close to home on Wednesday for a significant in-home visit.
On Wednesday, Thomas will go in-home with 3-star Plaquemine (La.) defensive lineman Nelson Jenkins, who has been solid to his commitment to LSU since February.
Jenkins, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect, is projected to play defensive end in the Tigers’ 3-4 front.
Jenkins has battled numerous injuries to his hand and lower body since the spring and missed part of his senior season. That has not deterred schools such as Kansas, Alabama and Florida from pushing for a flip, and Texas and TCU from monitoring the defensive lineman.
Thomas’ in-home visit should be geared toward signing early as part of a loaded 2018 class for LSU in regards to defensive linemen.
