Austin Mack will start at wide receiver for Ohio State in the Buckeyes’ season opener against Indiana on Thursday, his mom revealed on Twitter.

This start will carry a special meaning for Mack, who will get to make his first college start in his home state. The former 4-star wide receiver recruit hails from Fort Wayne, Ind. He is entering his sophomore season, and will get to play a role in replenishing a position that saw its three biggest performers — Curtis Samuel, Noah Brown and Dontre Wilson — move on. Land of 10’s Jeremy Birmingham called Mack a “player to watch” when he got on campus last summer. Now he has his chance.
