Stephen Roberts and the Auburn defense stepped up with some big plays when the Tigers needed them in a 42-27 win over Texas A&M on Saturday.
After finishing with four tackles and two passes broken up against the Aggies, Roberts was the highest rated defensive player in the SEC for Week 10 by Pro Football Focus. With a 93.4 rating, Roberts was the only player on the 11-player SEC defensive team of the week with a rating in the 90s.
Through nine games, Roberts is third on Auburn’s defense with 36 tackles. He is also third with four passes broken up.
The senior from Opelika, Ala., now has 122 career tackles.

Roberts and the Tigers host Georgia on Saturday in a game that could help decide the SEC playoff picture. The Bulldogs entered this week ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings.
The Tigers have two losses, but they could shake things up with a win over the Bulldogs. And Auburn still has the Iron Bowl with Alabama to play later this month.
