Say cheese

Auburn football was busy on Thursday morning, but not exactly on the football field.

The Tigers primped and prepped and prepared for picture day. Best of all, the team finished up in record time, according to a Tweet from Gus Malzahn.

These are the photos you’ll see and refer to in media guides for most of the year. More importantly, this is the team you’ll be watching and cheering for come Sept. 2. Check out this team photo and some highlights from picture day on the Plains.

Corey Grant goes the distance

Corey Grant made a name for himself at Auburn and is working on following suit in the NFL.

In his third season, Grant is trying to break into the Jacksonville Jaguars backfield lineup as a regular. He got the start he needed on Thursday night in an exhibition game against the New England Patriots.

Grant broke free and dashed 79 yards for a touchdown against the Patriots. Check out the run:

 A good start

Auburn soccer opened its preseason at Georgia on Thursday night, winning the exhibition match 3-2.

Ellie Leek, Alyssa Malonson and Katie Hickman scored goals for Auburn and the 20 Tigers saw action. Auburn surged ahead after the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead and scored the final goal in the 88th minute when Leek converted a penalty.

The Tigers play Samford on Saturday at the Auburn Soccer Complex (7 p.m. CT).

Tweet of the day
