Auburn football: Reminiscing on Labor Day, taking in highlights, soccer struggles in ACC country

Auburn football

Auburn football is the No. 1 topic in the War Eagle Wakeup every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across the Tigers sports world. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Auburn football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Labor Day reminiscing

Auburn’s coaches and players are supposed to quickly turn to their next opponent after a dominant win. But fans? They can enjoy the victory a little bit longer than those in uniform.

That’s especially the case on a long holiday weekend, where you’re able to spend more time with family and friends.

Game day returned to the Plains on Saturday and it was, as the kids say, lit. Because it’s a long weekend, take a few minutes to enjoy some highlights from the festivities on campus and the game.

Tough weekend against top teams

Auburn soccer spent the weekend in North Carolina taking on a couple of ACC powerhouses.

The Tigers fell to No. 9 North Carolina on Friday night (5-0) and were held to two shots. Then on Sunday, Auburn fell 2-0 to No. 13 Duke.

Tweet of the day

Freshman linebacker K.J. Britt said what everyone taking in the blowout win in Jordan-Hare Stadium over the weekend was thinking. Trust us, K.J, it’s an experience for everyone involved.

Oh, and did we mention Auburn’s defense is looking really good in its second year under Kevin Steele?
