Auburn football podcast: Darvin Adams happy his record was broken

Welcome to The Podcast on the Plains, SEC Country’s daily Auburn football podcast with host Zac Blackerby. On the show Thursday, Blackerby plays a conversation with former Auburn wide receiver Darvin Adams, the previous record-holder for catches in a season by an Auburn player. Adams now plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Blackerby also speaks with Jeff Whitaker, the former Auburn defensive tackle.

  • Start of the show: Zac Blackerby introduces Darvin Adams and mentions the Auburn’s No. 2 ranking from the College Football Playoff committee this week.
  • 10-minute mark: Adams talks about this Auburn team and relates it to his 2010 team. He also shares his thoughts on Ryan Davis breaking his record for catches in a season.
  • 20-minute mark: Jeff Whitaker joins the show and talks about the SEC Championship Game on Saturday. He also recalls some experiences from his two SEC Championship Game appearances.
  • End of the show: Blackerby and Whitaker talk about the game on Saturday. Whitaker, a Georgia native, said he believes Auburn will win this rivalry game for the second time this season behind the play of the defensive front.
