AUBURN, Ala. — Chuck Person is no longer an Auburn University employee. A university spokesperson confined the news on Tuesday following Person’s indictment by the federal grand jury in New York on Tuesday morning.
Michael Niziolek, of Auburn Undercover, was first to report the news on Tuesday night.
The former Auburn and NBA standout was arrested at the end of September after fraud and corruption charges were brought against him. As the story developed, it turned out to be far-reaching in the world of college basketball.
Auburn University suspended Person without pay in the hours following his arrest, but news of his termination had not been confirmed yet.
The Tigers open their season officially on Friday against Norfolk State in Auburn Arena.
