Welcome to SEC Country’s  daily Arkansas Razorbacks recruiting notebook . In this edition, we discuss the Hogs’ quarterback commits, a junior college target back on the market and more.

Arkansas’ QB commits shredding the competition this fall

The future of the quarterback position appears to be bright at Arkansas. The Razorbacks currently have two players committed at the position — Connor Noland in the 2018 class and Ty Evans for 2019. Both completed regular-season play last week and led their respective high schools to 10-0 campaigns.

Noland, a 4-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite, completed 69 percent of his passes for Greenwood (Ark.) on the season. He threw for 2,151 yards with 25 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. He also rushed for 4 scores. Noland and the Bulldogs have a bye in the first round of Arkansas’ Class 6A playoffs this week. He’ll be back in action Nov. 17 in Greenwood for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff.

He had 34 passing touchdowns and 5 interceptions. Evans also contributed 106 rushing yards and 5 rushing scores. Palmer Ridge will host Berthoud (Colo.) this Friday in the first round of Colorado’s Class 3A playoffs.

Arkansas OLB target Jordan Allen de-commits from TCU

Arkansas outside linebacker target Jordan Allen is back among the uncommitted.

Allen is a 3-star recruit and the No. 17 overall junior college prospect in the 2018 class. He announced his de-commitment from TCU last week.

The Razorbacks offered him in early October. He also has Colorado, Iowa State and TCU among his Power 5 offers. The Hogs remain in need of an outside linebacker in the 2018 class.

Allen spent the 2016 season at UC Davis, an FCS program, before transferring to junior college in search of potential opportunities at the FBS level. He is a 2016 graduate of Armijo High School in Fairfield, Calif.

Colorado, Louisville at the top for offered DB Aaron Maddox

Arkansas has some catching up to do if it wants to land 2018 junior college safety Aaron Maddox.

According to a report from 247Sports, Maddox lists Colorado and Louisville as his current top choices among his offers. Arkansas, Southeastern Louisiana and Temple are his other offers.

Maddox is currently a freshman at Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz. In eight games this season, Maddox has 58 tackles and an interception.

He qualified academically to play at the FBS level out of high school, so he could transfer after this season and be immediately eligible. In that case, he would have three seasons of eligibility remaining and the possibility to redshirt. His father, Richard, was a standout linebacker at Arizona during the era of the Wildcats’ Desert Swarm defense (1992-93).
