Alabama co-offensive coordinator Mike Locksley has been going through a tough time recently, as his son, Meiko, was shot and killed in Maryland, dying after he was found with a gunshot wound on Sunday night.
On Wednesday, while sharing the information for his son’s “Celebration of Life” on Twitter, Locksley also shared his thanks for the support that he and his family have received during this tragic time.
“Thank you to all that have reached out,” Locksley tweeted. “My family and I are humbled and appreciative.”

Locksley rejoined the Crimson Tide at the team’s practice on Tuesday.
After spending 2016 as an offensive analyst at Alabama, Locksley was hired as a full-time assistant coach over the offseason. He coached at Maryland from 2012-15 — including six games as interim head coach in 2015 — and at New Mexico from 2009-11.
