Alabama LB Mack Wilson: I pray the playoff committee gives us another chance

Alabama football-Nick Saban-SEC Country Power Poll-Colorado State

Alabama can only wait and see how things play out during a Week 14 filled with significant conference championship games, and linebacker Mack Wilson conveyed the sentiments of all Crimson Tide fans on Tuesday morning.

The team’s 26-14 loss to rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl last Saturday prevented a fourth straight trip to the SEC Championship Game, but not necessarily a fourth straight trip to the College Football Playoff.

However, the one-loss Tide’s fate is now in the hands of the College Football Playoff committee, and here’s what Wilson posted on Twitter.

The committee will reveal its penultimate rankings on Tuesday night, while the final rankings that will decide the four-team field will be unveiled on Sunday, Dec. 3.

As far as Tuesday’s rankings go, SEC Country projects Clemson to be No. 1, with Oklahoma, Auburn and Wisconsin rounding out the top four in that order.

One likely scenario that can get Wilson and the Crimson Tide in the playoff is Oklahoma beating TCU and Clemson taking care of Miami in the Big 12 and ACC title games, respectively, while Ohio State knocks off undefeated Wisconsin for the Big Ten crown.
