Alabama is sitting and waiting to find out its playoff fate this weekend. With an important slate of games coming up, the dominoes could fall in the right places for Alabama to make another playoff appearance. One of the big games to decide this is No. 4 Wisconsin against No. 8 Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game. If Ohio State wins, it could still mean trouble for Alabama. Many media pundits believe Ohio State’s resume is better than Alabama’s resume, despite having 2 losses. ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit spoke with SEC Country about this, and also said Alabama has to worry about USC also ending its playoff streak.

Run the ball

Alabama’s running game has been mostly by committee. This season, Hurts, as well as running backs Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs and Bo Scarbrough have all been primary ball carriers for the Crimson Tide. After Alabama’s loss to Auburn, many people questioned the play calling, as Alabama’s running backs only had 18 carries combined, while Hurts had 18 carries as well.
