Almost 24 hours after Hurricane Harvey made landfall late Friday night, officials offered an update on the status of the game between LSU and BYU to be played next Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston.
The Houston area is still expected to receive heavy rain through the early part of next week.

There has been no reported damage to the stadium and the game is still expected to be played as scheduled. LSU had experience with a hurricane last season when Matthew came ashore in Florida, which caused tension between the Gators’ and Tigers’ programs.
While the hurricane was downgraded to a tropical storm on Saturday, southeast Texas isn’t out of the woods yet. Rain is expected to continue falling in the area through the middle of next week. The outlook for LSU is positive after BYU struggled against Portland State on Saturday in a 20-6 win.
