High expectations are not something the Gators will have to deal with this season.

Florida continues to fly under the radar, as it was not ranked in the first Associated Press poll of the season, released Sunday. The Gators received four votes, putting them in 37th place overall.

But Florida will definitely have a chance to prove the voters wrong. The Gators will face six teams ranked in the top 25 of the AP poll — No. 9 Georgia, No. 10 Florida State, No. 14 LSU, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 24 Missouri and No. 25 Tennessee.

The Gators, which finished with a 7-5 record last season, were also not ranked in the preseason coaches’ Poll. Florida received two votes to place 48th on that list.

The SEC led all conferences with eight teams in the top 25 of the AP poll. Alabama was the highest ranked SEC team, coming in at No. 3.
