Updated: Braves offer free tickets to residents who evacuate to Atlanta

The Braves are offering free tickets to all residents of Florida and those residents of Georgia and South Carolina counties under mandatory evacuation orders who travel to the Atlanta due to Hurricane Irma.

The Braves are extending the invitation to those affected for the next four nights at SunTrust Park. Evacuees can go to the Braves ticket office on the day of the game, show a valid I.D. and receive a complimentary ticket.

“We know how difficult it has been for those who have had to pack up and leave their homes as Hurricane Irma approaches,” said Derek Schiller, Braves President of Business, said in a statement. “We hope we can help take their mind off the storm for a few hours by coming to enjoy a baseball game at SunTrust Park.”

The team initially made the offer to residents of Florida but later added those from counties in Georgia and South Carolina.

The Braves begin a four-game series with the Marlins tonight at 7:35. Game times for the other games are tomorrow at 7:35 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 1:35 p.m.
