Most Braves fans are aware of Ronald Acuna’s status among baseball’s young prospects. They’ve heard the raves about his five-tool talent, the way he’s performed in every league where he’s played and the comparisons to some of baseball’s all-time best.
Acuna made his major league debut April 25 in Cincinnati. He hit his first major-league home run the following day.
Since moving to the leadoff spot after the All-Star break, Acuna has hit .344 (31-for-90) with 10 homers, 20 RBIs and 23 runs scored across 23 games. He has homered in a franchise-tying five consecutive games. His three consecutive leadoff homers, before he was plunked by a Marlins pitcher, are one shy of the MLB record. He is the youngest player to homer in four consecutive games in baseball history.
Some say he is in a tight race for N.L. Rookie of the Year.
