Predicting Atlanta United’s starting 11 vs. Motagua

Doug Roberson (@DougRobersonAJC) of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution predicts Atlanta United's starting 11 for Tuesday's game against Motagua in Honduras in the first leg of the Champions League. The game can be watched on Fox Soccer Plus and heard on 92.9 FM.

If you missed Monday's news, here is a list of the Atlanta United players who can't play. It makes this prediction a bit easier.

Here goes, in a 4-3-3 on offense, or 4-4-1-1 on defense formation:

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

Right fullback Brooks Lennon, who will be making his official debut after being acquired in a trade with Real Salt Lake.

Centerback Franco Escobar.

Centerback Fernando Meza, will will be making his debut after being purchased from Necaxa.

Left fullback Anton Walkes, who was acquired from Portsmouth in England's League One.

Defensive midfielder Jeff Larentowicz.

Midfielder Eric Remedi.

Midfielder Emerson Hyndman, who has been playing in the Darlington Nagbe role in the preseason, but will move back to the attacking position he played last season because of the injuries that are effecting the squad.

Midfielder Ezequiel Barco, who scored four goals with three assists in 15 appearances last season.

Midfielder Pity Martinez, who scored five goals with nine assists in 32 appearances last season.

Striker Josef Martinez, who scored 27 goals in 29 appearances last season.
