There are a ton of excellent colleges to choose from, but three institutions in Georgia have cracked the latest national rankings by WalletHub.

The personal finance site recently released its annual best colleges list, which highlights the 500 best universities in America.
To determine the results, researchers compared nearly 1,000 higher-education institutions in the U.S. using 26 key measures, such as student-faculty ratio, graduation rate and student loan debt.
Those metrics were then filtered into seven major categories: cost and financing; faculty resources, campus safety, campus experiences, educational outcomes and career outcomes.

Of the 13 Georgia colleges in the round-up, three earned spots among the top 100, including Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University and the University of Georgia.
Georgia Tech ranked No. 32, overall, while Emory and UGA were No. 41 and No. 76, respectively.

In-state tuition: $11,818
Georgia Tech was No. 4 for highest return on investment, overall. And Emory was No. 31 for educational outcpmes and No. 38 for student selectivity, overall.
