Driver charged in Downtown Connector crash

A driver has been charged in connection with a chain reaction crash, one of two accidents that blocked southbound lanes of the Downtown Connector at Langford Parkway early Wednesday.

Four cars were involved in that crash and one person was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

“The at-fault driver was charged with following too closely,” the Georgia State Patrol said in a statement.

No other information was released about the person charged.

The drivers in the second accident declined to make a report, according to the GSP.

The crashes created big delays for people headed to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Atlanta police officers and Georgia Department of Transportation crews cleared the scene a short time later.
