A dump truck ran a red light, overturned and spilled 18 tons of gravel on the same I-20 overpass where a mattress caught fire less than 24 hours ago, according to police.
The incident was first reported at 11:20 a.m., but northbound lanes of West Avenue remain closed while authorities work to clean up the spill.
At noon, police said it would likely be another hour before the northbound lanes reopened.
The incident is not causing big delays on I-20, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
According to Conyers police, one person in a passenger car was flown to a hospital following the three-vehicle crash. Two other people had minor injuries and refused to go to the hospital.
A mattress fire closed the same Conyers overpass for about an hour Wednesday afternoon.

The mattress became stuck under a tractor-trailer at some point Wednesday afternoon, according to a tweet from the agency. The fire was quickly extinguished but it punctured an airline on the big rig, which had to be towed from the scene.
