Governor Deal to sign Georgia school turnaround legislation

Gov. Nathan Deal will sign school turnaround legislation Thursday.

House Bill 338, entitled The First Priority Act, details how the state will intervene in Georgia’s lowest-performing schools in school districts that amend their flexibility contracts to allow it.

Deal’s office said he also will sign several other bills at the 9:45 a.m. ceremony under the Gold Dome: HB 37, HB 139, HB 198, HB 224, HB 237, HB 430, HB 437, SB 186 and SB 211.
