SHIRLEY, Hubert Curtis "Hugh"

Died peacefully at home on November 2, 2021.

Hugh was born on March 6, 1935 in Hollywood, Georgia to the late George Webster and Mary Elizabeth Shirley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Susan Shirley; brother Paul Shirley and sister Jonelle Holcomb.

He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as a combat pilot in the Vietnam War. As Captain, he received the Air Medal for exemplary service. He finished his career with the title of Major.

After leaving the Air Force he spent 26 years as a pilot for United Airlines. He then went on to become an attorney, as well as open Landmark Homebuilders with his two sons. After 18 years as a United Methodist Pastor he retired, humbly serving and loving the Lord in all he did.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sue Ann, children Stephen (Kelly); Belinda (Daniel); Christopher (Jennie); 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby, OraSue, Joyce, Mary Ann.

Memorial services will be held at Nazareth United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 2 PM.
