ROBERSON, Irene "Rena"

Irene, born on the Greek island of Samos, February 26, 1925, lived a full life till the age of 95. She passed away on December 16, 2020 in Atlanta where she had been living for the last 16 years since her beloved husband, James, passed away in 2003. Irene was the daughter of the late Alexos and Calliope Mortou.

Irene had a zest for life and was the female version of Zorba, the Greek, dancing her way into the hearts of many. Even though she loved her original country, she spent most of her remaining life in the United States as an Army wife. She was so proud to be an American citizen and charmed everyone with her strong accent and bubbly personality.

Irene is survived by her 3 daughters, Renee Launiere, Marianna Biel and husband Steven and Cristina Roberson-Perez and wife Sonia as well as close cousins on the island of Samos, Greece, the Andonakakis family, Stavroula and in Athens, Monica and Nikos.
