MCMAHAN, Earl Gibbs
Earl Gibbs McMahan, age 86, of Suwanee, GA, passed peacefully Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by family.
Funeral services for Earl will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory with Burial to follow at Peachtree Memorial Park, Peachtree Corners, GA. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to Earl's service at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Earl was born August 6, 1934 in Hopewell, AL to the late Joseph Arthur McMahan and the late Georgie Gibbs McMahan. He was the 6th of 7 children. Also, preceding Earl is sister, Carolyn Tate; brothers, Albert, Harold, Julian and Charles McMahan.
Earl was an active member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church. He loved gardening and sharing his harvest with friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. At age 16, he drove the school bus. He was a self-taught mechanic and naturally enjoyed tinkering and repairing machinery. He owned and operated Gold River Equipment, a crane and heavy equipment service company, where he traveled all over the U.S., and even traveled to Puerto Rico, Hawaii and China. Earl will be remembered for his infectious smile and sense of humor.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine Hall McMahan; daughters, Jan Waits and fiancé Frank Twupack, Jill and husband Bob Linares; grandchildren, Brittany and husband Mike Albaneso, Rachael Linares, and Jacob Linares; brother, Clifton and wife Gail McMahan. He was also loved by numerous extended family and friends.
