LONG, Roy K.

May 8, 1956 – December 26, 2020

Roy passed away peacefully with family at his side after succumbing to the effects of COVID-19 following a valiant fight. He is survived by his mother, Juanita M. Long; sisters, Katrinia M. Long and Karen F. (Long) Charles; his children, Raymond M. Long, LaShawne R. (Long) Myles, Jonathan E. Long, and Jessica R. Long; as well as his grandchildren.

Roy was a true lover of all that life had to offer, giving help, hugs, and smiles to all he encountered. His greatest passions were his children, grandchildren, family, and his faith. His favorite hobbies included music, sports, coaching, cooking, travel, and any excuse to laugh. Roy's lasting legacy will be in the countless stories retold by the many souls and hearts he touched and that he was touched by. May every voice joyfully share memories and moments as testimony of his love for all and his desire to see each become something more.

His physical presence is gone, but his energy, passion, and love live on.

For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. - Romans 14:7 (NIV).
