IBELE, Betty A.

Heaven gained another saint as Mrs. Betty A. Ibele, age 86, of Monroe, GA joined her husband, Rev. Emil F. Ibele, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Conyers, GA.

Betty was born in 1934 in Lincoln, NE to John and Alice Scheidt. She graduated from Michigan State. As the story goes, she met the love of her life, Emil, at a multi-church picnic when they were both living in Louisiana. They were married on April 21, 1956 and Betty joined Emil in a lifetime of ministry. They served congregations in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Georgia for over 50 years. Betty was very active in the Atlanta Via de Cristo Movement and Atlanta Teens Encounter Christ. Outside of her work with the churches they served, Betty worked in the banking industry for many years and volunteered with hospice after retiring. She was a resident at Great Oaks Senior Living in Monroe. Through her loving and generous heart, Betty touched many people throughout her earthly years and now joins the great company of heaven where we know she heard, "Well done my good and faithful servant."

Betty was a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil. She is survived by her children, Doug Ibele of Hoschton, GA, Dawn (Rhett) Landis of Durham, NC, Derek (Barbi) Ibele of Monroe, GA, Denise (Mark) Brown of Madison, AL, and Diane Pass of Land o'Lakes, FL; grandchildren, Sarah (Jack Cosgrove) Landis, Justin (Tara) Pass, Erin (Daniel) Hodges, Kelly Ibele, Jonathan Brown, and Danny Ibele; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Scarlet, Cece, and Teddy; and several nieces & nephews.

Due to the pandemic, memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Meadows Funeral Home of Monroe, GA is handling the arrangements for the family.
