CONKWRIGHT, Candyce

Age 78, died peacefully in her sleep with her family devotedly by her side. Candy attended the University of Kentucky where she studied biology and chemistry. It was at UK where she met her husband of 55 years, Jim. Candy will be remembered for her deep abiding faith, her radiant smile, and her love for her family. She spent her life educating others while continuing her own education, earning a doctorate at the University of Georgia. She retired from the Cobb County School System but continued working with her husband in other education endeavors, primarily in Micronesia and the Western Pacific. Their work and travels took them to all 7 continents in a wonderful life together. The highlight of her life was her two children and six grandchildren. Candy is survived by her husband Jim, her son Jim Jr. and his wife Danielle, and grandchildren Alex, Josie, Rhys, and Mason of Brentwood, TN; her daughter Christy Adriaenssens and her husband Luc, and grandchildren Kate and Jack of Frisco, TX. She is also survived by five sisters and one brother. There will be a funeral service at the Catholic Church of St. Ann at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 29. Friends and Family are invited.
