CHENEY BUKY (PENN), Carol
Carol Penn Buky Cheney, 92, went to be with her heavenly Father, Friday August, 27, 2021. She passed peacefully, with her husband, Irv, by her side. Carol was a resident of Roswell, GA. She was born July 23, 1929 in Gravel Switch, KY and spent most of her growing up years in Louisville, KY. Although most of her life was spent in various cities, Carol was a country girl at heart, frequently sharing memories of Gravel Switch. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. Carol will be remembered for living her life by strong godly principles as well as being the perfect homemaker and fabulous cook. Dining at Carol's table was equal to or better than most Atlanta restaurants! Carol and Irv enjoyed many years traveling around the United States and Canada in their RV, making many new friends along the way. She will truly be missed by those who were touched by her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Scheurmeyer, her father, Theoel Penn, her first husband of 28 years, Vernon C. (Bud) Buky and son, Stanley V. Buky. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Benjamin Irvin Cheney, Jr. of Roswell, GA, sister, Honey Hager (Nick) of Portland , OR, son, Brad Buky (Sue) of Colleyville, TX , daughter-in-law Cindy Buky of Crystal River, FL, stepdaughters Jeannie Moore (Gregg) of Marietta, GA, June Lavergne (Ken) and Joy Hammatt (Bruce) both of Baton Rouge, LA, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Northside Chapel,12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075 Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM with a Memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Rob Nash will officiate.
