If you think it's cold today, just wait until tomorrow

People woke up to much colder temperatures this morning but tomorrow will be an even more of a drastic change.

Colder air filtered into the area overnight, and many areas in north Georgia stayed in the 40s all day. The last time Georgia saw highs in the 40s was Dec. 10, according to Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls.

Wind gusts were up to 25 mph in metro Atlanta Wednesday and as high as 35 mph in the mountains.

The areas in north Georgia mountains are under a Wind Advisory until 7 a.m. Thursday.

On Thursday, temperatures will plunge below freezing for some areas and it could last through Friday.

Our next chance of rain arrives on Saturday and Sunday.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said a wedge of high pressure and moisture moving in Saturday could lead to a little winter mix at times for parts of north Georgia.
