Cobb County police said Friday the attack that prompted four schools to be locked down never happened.
Tarrah Lynn Connon, 32, of Marietta, has been charged with making a false report of a crime a day after she told police she was attacked while walking on a trail in east Cobb.
Connon called 911 Thursday morning to report that she was attacked at Harrison Park on Shallowford Road, according to Officer Joe Hernandez with Cobb County police. She was transported to WellStar Kennestone hospital, where she was later released.
"Detectives discovered that the information provided to them was not consistent with what they uncovered in regards to her version of events or her injuries," Hernandez said in a statement.
Lassiter High School, Mabry and Simpson middle schools, and Mountain View Elementary were all on lock-down mode for about an hour Thursday following the report of the attack.
Connon was booked into the Cobb County jail. Her bond has been set at $5,000.
