Martin Luther King Jr. Day started off with a chilly morning, but temperatures will rise throughout the day, WSB meteorologist Karen Minton said.
“It’s going to warm a little bit,” Minton said. “We’re still going to be below average, and we will have plenty of sunshine.”
Later this week, an Arctic front will pass through the region creating a chance for light snow on Tuesday. Minton predicted up to 1 inch in northern counties and as much as a quarter-inch in Atlanta Metro.
Temperatures should drop into the teens overnight late Tuesday, creating a frigid Wednesday morning. By Friday, another warming is forecast for the weekend.
