A single-engine plane that crashed Thursday at Cobb County International Airport-McCollum Field lost power on takeoff, officials said Friday.
With only the pilot aboard, the CH 2000, fixed-wing plane crashed into trees before going down about 5 p.m., FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said.
The pilot suffered minor injuries, Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said Thursday. Authorities have not released his name. No charges are expected.
The National Transportation Safety Board will determine the cause of the crash, Bergen said. The investigation could take a year.
