UGA students to staff health news bureau

Graduate journalism students from the University of Georgia will run a public health news bureau focusing on issues often overlooked.

Officials said high infant mortality, soaring obesity rates and an aging public health workforce are some of the topics that don't get enough attention in Georgia.

The project is supported by the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, which focuses on expanding affordable and quality healthcare to underserved individuals and communities. The news bureau is part of Advancing Public Health in Georgia, a two-year program supported by the foundation.
