It’s a pink and blue den for the tiger babies at Zoo Atlanta.

The 7-week-old Sumatran cubs – the first born at the zoo in a decade -- have been identified as a male and a female and named, respectively, Sanjiv (meaning “love” and “long life” in Indian) and Sohni (meaning “beautiful”).

The tigers were named by  Zoo donor and former Board of Directors member Larry Westbrook.

During their first exam last week, Sanjiv weighed 12.3 pounds and Sohni, 10.8. The cubs and their mother, Chelsea, can be seen on camera in the Tiger/Sun Bear Terrace at Zoo Atlanta and the Tiger Cub Cam at www.zooatlanta.org. They will make their live viewing debut early next month.
