Cobb and Marietta students now only will need one card to use the digital and print resources in Cobb County’s libraries.

Thanks to a partnership among the Cobb County School District (CCSD), Marietta City Schools and the Cobb County Public Library System, the new Library PASS initiative, or Public Library Access for Student Success, links K-12 student identification numbers to the new Cobb County PASS accounts.

The Library PASS program, which launched in January 2018, allows students to access library resources from home, the classroom or in person at a Cobb library, according to a CCSD statement.

Currently, there are more than 116,000 CCSD students registered with PASS accounts.

During a ceremony at the Switzer Library in Marietta on June 20, CCSD Superintendent Chris Ragsdale; Chairman Mike Boyce, Cobb County Board of Commissioners and Superintendent Grant Rivera, Marietta City Schools, signed a memorandum of agreement to extend the Library PASS partnership for two years.

Boyce applauded the commitment and dedication of the three organizations in coming together to change lives by making more educational resources available to students in Cobb County.

Ragsdale said, “When we have partnerships like this, it shows that the focus in Cobb County is very high on prioritizing education. It is very important to us to make sure that resources are available to not only students but also parents. To have partnerships like this with the library system is very important. All the resources that we can tap into - that our students and staff can tap into - benefit the goal of student success.”
