This weekend’s wet forecast has prompted the state Department of Transportation to postpone road construction that was planned for I-20 in DeKalb County, but several other road projects were still on the schedule as of late Friday morning.

On the top-end Perimeter, the two right lanes of I-285 westbound between Ga. 400 and Roswell Road are scheduled to be closed for construction from 9 p.m. Friday through 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the DOT.

Just east of there, the two right lanes of I-285 eastbound will be closed from Ga. 400 to Ashford Dunwoody Road, beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing through 5 a.m. Monday.

Another potential trouble spot is on I-85 just south of downtown, where crews plan to shut down the two right lanes near Cleveland Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is predicting an 80 percent chance of rain on Saturday, decreasing to 30 percent on Sunday before climbing back to 70 percent Sunday night.

Events scheduled downtown this weekend include Saturday night’s Hawks game against Cleveland at Philips Arena and the Cheersport Atlanta Grand Championship, which runs all day Sunday at the Georgia World Congress Center.
