On Wednesday night at 10, the crime network Investigation Discovery is airing an episode “reinvestigating” the conviction of a man found guilty of murdering his wife in 1998.
Barbara Mikell, 45, was found dead with three gunshots to the head in a roadside motel near I-20 and Evans Mill Road. Her husband, who was said to have been unfaithful, was convicted, but there are doubts, according to a news release from the TV channel.
His conviction, however, was upheld in 2001 by the Supreme Court of Georgia. According to the ruling, the hotel is where the couple had met and she checked in there after an argument. The husband’s alibi was that he worked the entire day and couldn’t have been there at the time of her death.

A retired homicide detective Chris Anderson and criminal defense attorney Fatima Silva, hosts of the show “Reasonable Doubt,” were called by Perry Mikell's sister and fiancé, who are convinced he’s innocent man.
